The new Creative Arts Center will transform the former Higgins Plaza into a hub for artistic creation and performance. The Center will emphasize a distinctive part of the city’s history and the renovation will celebrate the character and spirit of Hazel Crest. This renovation will be vital to the new overall Arts District and will leverage creativity as a tool for economic growth and viable livability.  The project will anchor Hazel Crest's historic downtown district setting the artistic stage for long-term growth and creativity.

A Latent Landmark redefines the intersection of West 170th + Dixie Highway

Project Gallery

Rejuvenating the site with landscape, programed spaces, + color.
The village’s Creative Arts Center was formerly a vacant shopping plaza fronting Dixie Highway.
Over the years, the historic part of town lost a lot of businesses and suffered economic development decline as the community began to grow to the west and south. My goal is to revamp and re-energize the area through the arts center and art district, which has been proven to generate economic vitality for a community.
